Technological giant Xiaomi is moving forward with the development of its next premium tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max. The device was recently spotted in performance reviews on Geekbench, equipped with the XRING O3 processor, an innovation designed and developed by the manufacturer itself. This move by the company indicates a strategic step in the verticalization of its products, seeking greater control over the performance and optimization of hardware with software.
Understanding the power of the XRING O3 processor
The XRING O3 chip, responsible for powering the new tablet, features a robust 10-core architecture. These cores are divided into three distinct groupings to optimize performance and energy efficiency. There are two C1-Ultra cores, which reach frequencies of up to 4.36 GHz, four C1-Premium cores operating at 3.69 GHz and, finally, four C1-Pro cores, which operate at 3.15 GHz. The creation of its own processor allows Xiaomi a more precise adjustment between hardware and software, aiming for a superior and differentiated user experience in the competitive tablet market.
Test performance and optimization perspectives
In tests carried out by Geekbench, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max achieved a score of 3,474 in the single-core test. In the assessment of multiple cores, the result was 13,229 points. This configuration also reveals the presence of a Mali G2 Ultra NX MC16 GPU, equipped with 16 graphics cores. Although the result is impressive, the brand had already recorded around 15 thousand points in another multi-core test for the same XRING O3. The difference in scores can be attributed to the tablet’s current stage of development, suggesting that future tweaks to the software and thermal management could still boost performance before the official launch.
Highlight specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max
- 13.3-inch wide screen, providing larger viewing area.
- Support for 120 W fast charging, optimizing battery recharge time.
Market positioning and other versions of the Pad 9 line
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is designed to be the most advanced model within Xiaomi’s upcoming Pad 9 series. The company would also be developing standard and Pro versions for this line, which, unlike the Pro Max, must use Qualcomm processors. This chip diversification strategy allows Xiaomi to explore different market segments and offer varied options to consumers, balancing performance and cost.
Next steps and what to expect from the official launch
The tablet’s appearance on benchmark platforms like Geekbench is a clear indication that the device’s development process is at an advanced stage. This demonstrates that Xiaomi already carries out performance tests with the device’s functional units. Although the initial Geekbench results are subject to modification until the final version, the multi-core score of 13,229 positions the XRING O3 as a promising competitor in the high-end tablet segment. The expectation is that Xiaomi’s new tablet with its own chip will be formally presented in early September, at which point additional details about the device and its final performance should be revealed.
