An unexpected feature in Modern Warfare 4 is generating discussion in the gaming community. The game features an accessory for the Nightshade ISO submachine gun that allows you to track opponents through structures after a single shot, working in a similar way to an official “wallhack”. The functionality redefines the perception of fair play by offering a positioning advantage within the title’s own rules, something unusual in competitive shooter games.

Named ISO Trace, the component is an Apex accessory that uses special RFID ammunition. When you hit an enemy, it is automatically marked and its location is displayed on a small screen attached to the crosshair. This marking persists in real time, following the target’s movements even when it moves behind walls or the edges of the scene.

This mechanic offers players the ability to monitor the opponent’s strategy, identifying whether they remain hidden, attempt a comeback or leave the combat area. It is also possible to anticipate an enemy’s route and preposition your aim for a kill. Implementing this tracking can significantly transform confrontations in closed spaces, such as hallways and multiplayer rooms.

To access ISO Trace, interested parties must reach level 56 with the ISO Nightshade weapon. A double trial period is active in the game’s beta until its end, facilitating progression for those who want to try the accessory before the full debut of Modern Warfare 4, scheduled for October.

The relevance of this accessory may be even greater in Warzone mode. Due to the greater amount of player health in battle royale, it is common for an opponent to survive the initial attack and try to escape. With active marking, you can keep track of the target and decide whether to pursue it or prepare a more effective ambush. The accessory also offers the possibility of marking distant enemies with the submachine gun to locate them later.

With the arrival of new weapons at the official launch, the expectation is that other Apex accessories may introduce similar advantages. ISO Trace already stands out for providing positioning information almost constantly, and the real impact on match balance will depend both on how the community exploits this functionality and on possible adjustments that Activision can implement.
