Domestic earnings surpass initial box office projections
The feature collected $60 million across movie theaters in the United States. Industry projections before the weekend predicted the release would earn $55 million domestically. The performance pushed past Resident Evil: Afterlife, which held the previous domestic opening record with $26 million in 2010.

Audiences outside the domestic territory contributed $48.3 million to the worldwide launch. That foreign performance lifted the overall opening sum to $108.3 million across all reporting markets.
Creative talent behind the horror reboot
Screenwriter Shay Hatten, recognized for his work on Ballerina along with the third and fourth chapters of the John Wick franchise, penned the script that follows a medical courier caught inside a sudden outbreak of infected creatures. Zach Cregger directed the new feature project. The supporting ensemble includes several prominent performers:

The release marks the second cinematic reboot based on the Capcom property, following Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City in 2021. The adaptation is currently screening in theaters.
