Luma Island comes to PS5 and Xbox Series with cross-play in 2026
Independent Dutch studio Feel Free Games announced the expansion of farming simulation RPG Luma Island to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, scheduled for release in 2026 from its headquarters in Sassenheim, South Holland. The upcoming console launch integrates full cross-platform multiplayer support, linking console players with the existing PC community.
Online cooperative sessions will support up to four participants exploring, gathering resources, and building together across platforms. The studio opened official store listings for pre-registration on Thursday (24), stating, “We’re really excited to finally bring Luma Island to PS5, and we hope PlayStation players will feel right at home on the island.”
Multiplayer cross-play and relaxed gameplay design
The console editions feature complete cross-play compatibility across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, letting users establish cooperative lobbies regardless of hardware choice. Within the game, participants begin with an old caravan and a neglected farm before choosing among eight distinct professions. The island features multiple explorable environments, including thick jungles, mountain ranges, forests, resource-filled caves, ancient puzzle temples, and Pirate Cove with dedicated themed minigames.
Unlike traditional titles in the farming simulation genre, Luma Island eliminates stamina bars entirely and removes inventory storage restrictions. Players are free to farm, fish, decorate, or venture into hazardous locations without daily physical exhaustion mechanics or item slot management constraints. The system also introduces three selectable difficulty levels: Cozy, which disables compulsory combat, alongside Adventure and Hero modes for escalated survival challenges.
Release background and commercial performance
Luma Island originally debuted for PC via Steam on November 20, 2024, securing very positive feedback and accumulating more than 800,000 players prior to its console announcement. To celebrate the console expansion, Feel Free Games introduced a limited promotional discount on PC, reducing the digital price tag ahead of the upcoming cross-platform rollout.
