YouTube faces global instability today, affecting millions of video views: reports of outages in several countries

YouTube records an increase in complaints due to instability this Friday, November 7, 2025. Google’s platform faces video loading problems in several countries, including Brazil, the United States and the United Kingdom. Reports point to errors such as “Something went wrong” on the app and website, mainly affecting streaming and access to content. The breakdown occurs around 2pm Brasília time, with no deadline set for resolution by the company.

Users in Brazil mention difficulties watching live streams and educational channels. Downdetector, a monitoring website, indicates peaks of 57% of complaints related to the website, 28% to video streaming and 14% to the mobile application. YouTube’s technical team investigates the cause, which may involve server overload.

Real-time visitor reporting

Monitoring platform records an increase of 200% above the normal average of complaints. Graphs show peaks at 2pm, with a gradual decline after initial interventions.

Users on Twitter have been sharing similar experiences since early afternoon. Messages include attempts to restart devices without immediate effect.

How to temporarily work around errors

• Check your internet connection and test on another Wi-Fi or mobile data network.
• Close and reopen the application or browser to clear accumulated cache.
• Update the app to the latest version available in the Google Play store or App Store.
• Try logging in via incognito mode in your browser to isolate account issues.

These measures alleviate symptoms in around 30% of reported cases. If the error persists, users are awaiting official communication from the company.

History of similar outages on the platform

Instabilities occurred in October 2025, affecting more than 800 thousand global accesses. That interruption lasted about 30 minutes and involved reproduction errors identical to the current ones. The company attributed the problem to an internal technical failure, resolved by an update.of servers. In previous incidents, such as in September, complaints were concentrated in high-demand regions such as North America and Europe. Internal data indicates that short outages impact less than 5% of total daily traffic, but generate negative visibility. The platform, with more than 2 billion monthly users, prioritizes stability to maintain engagement. Reports from 2024 show a pattern of overload at peak times, such as Friday afternoons.

Tips for Continuous Monitoring

Keep the app updated to receive quick fixes. Sites like Downdetector offer real-time alerts on global status.

Expectations for resolution
