Fiat has started testing a new seven-seater SUV at Brasil. The Projeto F2U prototype ran on the indoor track of the Stellantis factory in Betim, Minas Gerais. The model will be the second national product derived from the new Argo platform, scheduled to debut in September.

The vehicle appears without license plates and is still in the early stages of development. Ele will have five- and seven-seat configurations. The spotted unit reinforces the brand’s strategy of expanding the offer of locally produced SUVs.

Protótipo ran in the Betim factory

The incident occurred inside the Stellantis industrial complex in Betim. Fotografias show the prototype in motion, with partial camouflage. The choice of location indicates that the model must be produced in the same mining hub where other Fiat vehicles are produced.

  • Plataforma CMP, named Smart Car by Stellantis
  • National Produção expected to start in 2027
  • Segundo family vehicle started by the new Argo

The internal track allows evaluations of dynamics, suspension and electronic systems without exposing the car to public traffic. Equipes engineering staff follows the tests closely.

Motorização mild hybrid with Turbo 200

The new Fiat SUV will exclusively use the Turbo 200 engine associated with the 12-volt mild hybrid system. Power will be 116 hp, with torque of 20.4 kgfm on any fuel. The transmission will be the CVT with seven-speed simulation.

Essa calibration is already scheduled to debut on Jeep Avenger. The set prioritizes energy efficiency and meets the emissions demands of the Brazilian market. The MHEV system offers electrical support during acceleration and reduces consumption in the city.

The engine matches well with the size of the vehicle. Ele delivers performance suitable for a family SUV without compromising economy.

Dimensões follow Citroën Aircross

The Projeto F2U will have measurements close to those of the Citroën Aircross. The length should be around 4.32 meters. The width is close to 2.01 meters and the height is 1.64 meters. The wheelbase remains at 2.67 meters.

Essas measures position the model as a spacious option in the segment. Ele offers space for seven occupants in higher trim configurations. The trunk maintains useful capacity even with all seats in use.

Design bets on a robust look

The images revealed by Stellantis show more imposing lines than those of the current Pulse and Fastback. The front features headlights integrated into a horizontal light bar. The raised hood and straight surfaces reinforce the visual presence.

On the side, prominent fenders, a high beltline and a more contained glass area create a muscular appearance. The gently sloping roof balances practicality and style. The model avoids the coupe profile of the Fastback to prioritize internal space.

Inside, the dashboard and door coverings follow the pattern of the new European Argo. Material refinement increases. A rotary gear lever, as on the Ram Rampage, should be equipped on the most complete versions.

Family-focused Pulse’s Sucessor

The new SUV appears as a natural evolution above the Pulse. Ele fills space gap for larger families. In the European market, the model should be called Grizzly. The name for Brasil has not yet been officially defined.

Fiat plans extensive line renewal by 2030. The Projeto F2U is part of this offensive. Ele arrives after the new Argo and before other derivatives of the same platform.

The model rivals options like the Chevrolet Spin in passenger capacity. National production helps maintain competitive prices.

Plataforma Smart Car expands Stellantis strategy

The CMP architecture, renamed Smart Car, allows cost sharing between the group’s brands. Ela supports electrified engines and different body sizes. The new Argo inaugurates this foundation in Brasil in September.

  • Novo Argo debuts in September
  • Seven-seat SUV arrives in 2027
  • Outros derivatives include pickup and coupe
  • Foco in light electrification

The platform facilitates future updates. Ela also sets the stage for more advanced hybrid versions.

Fiat completes 50 years of presence on Brasil with this renewal. The investment reinforces the importance of the local market for Stellantis.

The prototype continues to be tested. Novas images and details should emerge in the coming months. The brand remains officially silent about exact launch dates.
