McLaren debuts a commemorative booklet this weekend on Grande Prêmio of Mônaco. The British team marks its 1000th Grande Prêmio in the Fórmula 1 with a unique design in the MCL40. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri drive the car in papaya metallic and anthracite colors.

The street layout of Principado welcomes the team for the second time in history as the stage for an important milestone. McLaren chose the exact location where it made its debut in the category in 1966 with Bruce McLaren’s M2B.

Livrea features historical references throughout the body

The new look maintains the team’s identity, but adds elements that tell the story of six decades. Detalhes spread across the bodywork reminds us of the first participation, the victories, the drivers’ and constructors’ titles, the Triple Crown and the world record for the fastest pit stop.

The central message of the livrea reinforces the team’s resilience. “McLaren never gives up” appears as the main theme. The painting combines traditional papaya with anthracite tones to create a premium and elegant effect.

Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri also wear special jumpsuits that follow the same visual concept as MCL40. The design will be repeated at the Espanha GP, which takes place a week later.

McLaren is the second team to reach 1,000 GPs

Ferrari was the first team to reach the 1000 Grandes Prêmios mark. McLaren becomes the second team to reach the round number. Williams appears in third place, with 863 participations so far.

The English team has accumulated 203 race victories, 561 podiums and 177 pole positions. McLaren drivers have won 13 world titles, with the most recent from Norris last season. The team also has ten constructors’ trophies, including those for 2024 and 2025.
