Toyota Camry is back on the Japanese market. The automaker confirmed that it will import the sedan manufactured in the Estados Unidos from 2026. The model stopped being sold in the Japão in 2024 and now returns as an imported vehicle from the América and Norte.

The move is part of a larger plan by Toyota to send three US-made models to Japão. Além from Camry, the company will bring Highlander and Tundra. The initiative seeks to meet the varied demands of Japanese consumers and contribute to trade balance between the two countries.

Estratégia meets commercial context

Toyota’s decision comes amid discussions about tariffs and commercial relations. Importar US vehicles allow the company to test acceptance in the Japanese market without changing the local production line. The Camry was once the brand’s best-selling sedan in América from Norte, although it has lost position to the RAV4 SUV in recent years.

Especialistas follows how Japanese consumers will receive a sedan with American DNA. The previous model was also sold in the Japão, but local preferences have evolved towards smaller cars or utility vehicles. The hybrid version may appeal to buyers concerned about efficiency and emissions.

Detalhes technicians reinforce appeal

The hybrid system combines a 2.5-liter combustion engine with two electric motors. Total power varies depending on traction configuration. The interior prioritizes ergonomics and soft-touch materials. Leather Bancos appears in the most equipped versions, according to pre-launch images released.

Toyota prepares the ground for the first deliveries. The initial focus will be on assessing demand before expanding volumes. The imported Camry arrives with specifications aligned to the North American standard, which includes advanced security equipment and updated connectivity.

The return of Camry marks a reversal in the traditional export flow. Instead of sending Japão cars to the US, Toyota is now bringing an American icon back to the brand’s home country. Essa strategy may pave the way for other models in the future.
