The number of dollar millionaires in the world reached a new record at the end of 2025. The global population of individuals with investable wealth of at least 1 million dollars reached 25.3 million people. The growth came from an increase of almost 2 million new millionaires compared to 2024. The total wealth of this group also marked a historic peak.

The consultancy Capgemini released the data at World Wealth Report 2026. The advance reflects the good performance of stock markets and the reduction in inflation in several economies. Global Crescimento exceeds previous expectations

The 7.9% increase in the population of millionaires represented the biggest annual gain in five years. At the same time, the total wealth of these individuals rose 8.7% to $98.3 trillion. The value is equivalent to more than the combined GDP of the world’s 20 largest economies in 2024.

Robust equity markets in different regions supported the result. The slowdown in inflation allowed investors to see real appreciation in their portfolios. Analistas noted that the environment especially favored technology and semiconductor assets.

Estados Unidos lead addition of new millionaires

Os Estados Unidos added 736 thousand new millionaires throughout 2025. The total in the country reached 8.7 million people. Esse was the biggest absolute gainer among all analyzed markets.

The performance of American stock markets, driven by technology companies, explained much of the advance. Outros countries also recorded significant increases, but on a smaller scale.

The Capgemini report points out that optimism about AI has influenced investment decisions on a global scale. Portfólios with exposure to technology stocks posted above-average gains. However, the growth was not uniform. Regiões like América Latina had modest expansion, of just 0.3% in the millionaire population.

América of Norte grew 9.1% in the high-income population. Canadá added 30 thousand new millionaires. Na Europa, the 6.5% advance came after a decline in 2024. Países like Marrocos, in África, registered the highest percentages of local growth, driven by precious metal prices.

Brasil and other emerging markets in the region have shown mixed results. Trade uncertainty has limited the pace of creation of new millionaires, although some sectors have recovered.
