Vingroup launched the Green SM electric taxi service this Friday in the Delhi metropolitan region. The launch marks the Vietnamese company’s entry into the Indian app-based mobility market. The initial fleet primarily uses VinFast Limo Green minivans.
The Green SM will compete directly with already consolidated platforms such as Uber and Ola. The company plans to deploy around 10,000 electric vehicles in the Delhi-NCR region over time. Minivans painted cyan stand out in local traffic.
Initial Frota features minivans equipped for safety
As Limo Green offer indoor and outdoor camera systems. The technology includes artificial intelligence-assisted monitoring and emergency passenger buttons. The model has capacity for seven occupants and prioritizes comfort on urban trips.
- Câmeras real-time surveillance
- Emergency Assistência with dedicated button
- Monitoramento by Internal Conditions AI
- Ar-conditioning with PM2.5 filtration
- Reserva via app or dedicated points
Reservas occur via the app or in specific operational zones. Clientes have an introductory discount of up to 50% or 250 rupees on rides between June 5 and 11, 2026. Tarifas start from around 8 rupees per kilometer without surges.
Expansão follows 100% electric fleet plan
Vingroup invests in its own vehicles to maintain control over quality and sustainability. The strategy differs from models that mix a fleet of independent drivers. The company already operates similar services in other markets with a focus on zero emissions.
The launch takes place amid incentives from the Indian government for the adoption of electric vehicles in public transport. Delhi-NCR faces constant pollution challenges, which favors clean options. Green SM intends to grow to other large cities after the initial phase.
Concorrência must pressure prices and services
Especialistas track the initial impact on market dynamics. The presence of a controlled fleet can raise safety and comfort standards. Motoristas from Green SM receive attractive salary guarantees to attract qualified professionals.
The service reinforces the global trend of migration to electric mobility in large urban centers. Usuários report positive initial experience with quiet, well-equipped vehicles.
