Commander Marcelo Bielsa attracted the spotlight during the disembarkation of the Uruguay National Team delegation in Mexican territory to compete in the World Cup. The commander made an exception in his own routine by giving an individual statement, however, the speed of the demonstrations caused a greater impact than the statements themselves.
The Buenos Aires professional spoke with a journalist from the Uruguayan broadcaster DSports, while he was still in the aircraft arrival area at the Cancún airport terminal. Looking at the ground, the coach spoke about recent activities, the outlook for the FIFA tournament, the main squad and Ronald Araujo’s medical situation, spending just 38 seconds in total.
Reporter: “Another World Cup, now with Uruguay, what are your expectations?”
Bielsa: “A lot of illusion”
Reporter: “How have you been working these last few days, especially taking into account the injured players?”
Bielsa: “No, no problems”
Reporter: “How is Ronald, after the trip to Madrid?”
Bielsa: “Normal”
Reporter: “But was this quick trip useful for treatment?”
Bielsa: “We will see with time”
Reporter: “How have you been working thinking about your debut against Saudi?”
Bielsa: “Good, we had enough time to prepare for the match”
Reporter: “Do you already have the team in mind or are you going to define it in these days?”
Bielsa: “I’ll define it in these days”
The behavior of the South American commander generated several comments on digital platforms. Several internet users expressed dissatisfaction with the stance, while others took the situation lightly, with one user pointing out rudeness in the treatment and lack of courtesy for the size of the event.
