IOS 27 revolutionizes personalization with new Liquid Glass transparency control and sharp icons
During the WWDC 2026 conference, Apple revealed iOS 27, an update that introduces significant changes to the operating system’s aesthetics. This new version improves the renowned “Liquid Glass” design and introduces an unprecedented slider, allowing users to adjust the transparency of the interface with greater freedom. Currently in the testing phase for developers, the launch has not yet reached the general public.
The old fixed appearance presets have been replaced with the new slider. Until iOS 26, users could only choose between “Transparent” and “Colored” modes of “Liquid Glass”. With this update, it will now be possible to freely define the opacity level of the interface, ranging from a more opaque style to a completely translucent effect. The functionality will be accessible in the “Appearance” menu, within the iPhone’s “Settings” settings.

In addition to customization options, Apple also focused efforts on improving the clarity of icons and the visual contrast of the system. Interface layers have been redesigned to display richer refractions and noticeably sharper edges, addressing complaints from iOS 26 users who frequently mentioned a slightly “blurry” appearance to icons, especially when displayed at smaller sizes. This adjustment demonstrates the company’s attention to community feedback, providing a more refined visual experience.

iOS 27 Release Calendar and Availability
The distribution of iOS 27 follows Apple’s traditional schedule. The exclusive version for developers has been accessible since June 2026. The beta testing phase is scheduled for July, and the final version should be available between September and December 2026, a period that coincides with the launch of new iPhone models.
This new operating system will maintain compatibility with the same devices from the previous generation, including even older devices, such as the iPhone 11 line, introduced in 2019. However, more advanced artificial intelligence features, such as Siri AI, will be restricted to the brand’s most recent cell phone models.
