The Uruguay national team is preparing to take the field with significant changes to its squad for the clash against Cape Verde. The match is scheduled for next Sunday, valid for the second round of Group H of the World Cup. After a draw in the debut against Saudi Arabia, coach Marcelo Bielsa has at least three changes planned for the team.

One of the main new additions to the lineup will be the presence of midfielder Nicolás De la Cruz, as reported by Uruguayan press outlets. The Flamengo player should replace Manuel Ugarte, a change that could give greater dynamism and construction capacity to the celestial midfield, indicating a more offensive stance from Bielsa.

In the left sector of the defense, there will be another change: Juan Manuel Sanabria is the likely starter, taking over the position that was held by Matías Viña in the first match of the tournament.

For attack, the Uruguayan coach plans to replace Darwin Núñez with Agustín Canobbio, a Fluminense striker, on the right wing. Midfielder Arrascaeta, who is recovering from a calf injury, remains out of the plans and should not be able to play in the next game.

The Uruguayan national team trained in Playa del Carmen this Friday, marking the penultimate session before the clash with Cape Verde. The team has scheduled another training session for Saturday.

To end its participation in the group stage, Celeste will face Spain on the 26th, in a crucial duel for classification.
