A 41-year-old medical professional died in a serious traffic accident last Friday night (19). The incident occurred on the MG-353 highway, in Rio Novo, when Gustavo Petronilho Clímaco, who was heading from Juiz de Fora to a shift at the Guarani hospital, lost control of his vehicle and left the road.
According to the police report, the driver was unable to maintain steering control on a curve. First, the car collided with a tree on the right side of the road and then, after turning onto the highway, hit a second tree on the opposite shoulder.
Teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) were called and provided first aid at the scene, but unfortunately the doctor’s death was confirmed right there.
The Civil Police, through forensic expertise, was immediately called to investigate what happened and determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
The flow of vehicles on MG-353 remained partially interrupted during the rescue and forensic work, but was reestablished shortly after the procedures were concluded.
