After a period away from the series of films that projected him worldwide, actor Jackie Chan is preparing to once again embody the character of Asian Falcon.

At 72 years old, the martial arts star will reappear on the big screen with the feature film “Armor of God IV: Ultimatum”, the fourth title in the acclaimed “Armor of God” franchise. Filming is scheduled to begin in July, and the global release is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.

The film series is widely recognized for its combination of archaeological exploration, comedy and bold action scenes. In it, Jackie plays a daring adventurer in search of historical artifacts of great value, a premise that evokes the adventures of Indiana Jones and Tom Cruise’s remarkable stunts in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise.

Details about the new production

In this new production, the protagonist resumes his activities in search of the mythical Tumar artifact, whose estimated value exceeds US$20 million, equivalent to approximately R$103.04 million.

However, on this occasion, Chan will act exclusively as an actor. Unlike the three previous films, which were released between 1986 and 2012, the project will be directed by Robert Kun. Filming will take place in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, countries where the artist has never recorded before.

“I have never filmed in these regions before, which opens up space for several innovative visual and creative approaches that we can present to the public,” said the star, in a statement released by Variety.

Serious accident marred previous filming

The “Armor of God” franchise also holds one of the most striking and dangerous episodes of Jackie Chan’s career. In 1986, during the filming of his first feature, the actor faced the most serious accident of his life when he fell from a tree and collided with his head on a rock.

The crash resulted in a skull fracture, requiring an extensive recovery period and leaving lasting consequences. These include partial hearing loss in the right ear and the need to have a metal plate implanted in the head.

Even after the serious incident, Chan did not shy away from intense action scenes. Famous for not using stunt doubles and performing his own stunts, the actor remains active, proving that his passion for his work still shows no signs of waning, a testament to his legendary dedication to the art of cinema.

Trajectory and future of the star

Forty years after the premiere of Falcão Asian, the artist returns to one of the series most appreciated by the public, reiterating that his retirement plans are not yet expected to come to fruition.
