A recent anonymous tip points to the location of a possible “grave” of Nancy Guthrie in Mexico, which triggered a large-scale search operation in the region.

New information released by a shocking report indicates that one of the ransom letters sent to Nancy Guthrie’s family contained a disturbing apology for her death, described as accidental.

The email was sent on February 6 to TMZ, and its origin was traced to the same IP address as previous extortion communications.

Initially, in a note dated February 2, the alleged kidnapper demanded $4 million in bitcoin, assuring that Guthrie was “safe but scared.” This communication included terms for a possible exchange, which made investigators believe they were dealing with the real kidnappers rather than deceivers.

However, a later message, dated February 6, took a bizarre twist, starting with a confusing apology for the victim’s accidental death, according to the post.

The following note also suggested the possibility of returning the 84-year-old woman’s body for payment, although the specific amount was not specified, according to sources interviewed by the report.

This ransom note was fundamental in changing the focus of the investigation, transforming a kidnapping case into a possible homicide investigation.

The revelation also sparked a strong emotional reaction from Savannah Guthrie and her siblings, who posted a 20-second video on Instagram the next day, claiming to have “received the message and understood.”

Later, Savannah made a public appeal, begging the kidnapper to “give our mother back”, stressing that her return was “very valuable to us” and that “we would pay”.

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1, the date authorities believe she was abducted from her Tucson residence.

Since her disappearance, her family and media outlets, including TMZ, have been inundated with a series of ransom notes. Investigators organized these messages into three categories — “the good, the bad and the ugly” — meticulously analyzing every line and every macabre demand, sources said.

Inside sources revealed that the messages with detailed and specific information about Guthrie were considered “good”, while the one mentioning his accidental death was classified as “bad”.

In an interview with the “Today” show earlier this year, Savannah Guthrie acknowledged that most of the ransom notes the family received were fake. However, she emphasized, “I believe the two notes we received and responded to are true.”

So far, no one has been detained and no new relevant clues have emerged in the investigation into the mysterious disappearance.
