With the intense arrival of summer and the scorching heat, the search for refreshing and cold desserts increases considerably. Dairy Queen, aware that this season represents its peak sales, is seeing an increasing flow of customers in its drive-thrus, eager for Blizzards, slushies, lemonades and cones. In response, the chain is constantly expanding its offering, bringing back favorites like the Nestlé Peanut Drumstick Blizzard, S’mores Blizzard and Cotton Candy Blizzard, as well as introducing new Chocolate-Covered Donut Blizzard and Strawberry Angel Cake Blizzard.

Just when the wide range of ice cream options and traditional Blizzard flavors already seemed to overwhelm consumers, Dairy Queen announced the inclusion of four new products on its menu, three of which are new variations of Blizzard.

Dairy Queen introduces new line of international Blizzards and patriotic drink for summer

In a summer full of celebrations, including the FIFA World Cup in the United States and the country’s 250th anniversary, Dairy Queen is joining other major chains such as McDonald’s, Burger King and Krispy Kreme in intensifying its launches. Unlike some competitors, the ice cream chain aims to honor multiple events simultaneously with its recent menu additions.

Starting June 29, consumers will be able to try the new “Blizzard Cup” collection, which features three flavors inspired by cuisines from different countries. This line includes the Strawberry and Mango flavored Mochi Blizzard, the Biscoff Cookie Blizzard and the Mexican Hot Chocolate, made with the traditional Abuelita Blizzard.

The Strawberry Mango Flavored Mochi Blizzard combines mango mochi, a Japanese sweet rice flour delicacy filled with ice cream, with strawberry sauce in DQ’s famous creamy ice cream. The Biscoff Cookie Blizzard incorporates authentic, crunchy pieces of Biscoff cookies, which are mixed into the chain’s vanilla ice cream. Finally, the Abuelita Mexican Hot Chocolate with Blizzard features the mixture of Abuelita Mexican Hot Chocolate, chocolate pieces, marshmallows and cocoa syrup, all incorporated into the creamy ice cream.

Additionally, also launching on June 29, Dairy Queen presents for a limited period the Misty Slush Float, which bears the colors of the United States flag. This drink, in shades of red, white and blue, was designed to coincide with the nation’s 250th anniversary, and is available from June 29th to July 5th.

The composition of DQ’s new drink includes layers of red DQ Cherry Misty Slush, creamy white ice cream and blue raspberry Misty Slush, finished with festive starry sprinkles. The structure of “Stars & Stripes Misty Slush Float” is reminiscent of Rita’s “Gelati”, a dessert that combines Italian ice cream and gelato. This special edition will be available in a small size for US$2.50 at participating locations nationwide.

As these new additions will only be available for a limited time, interested parties are advised to take a moment to visit Dairy Queen between the World Cup games and the 4th of July celebrations.
