The Audi Formula 1 team, together with Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto, faces a scenario of questions before the Austrian Grand Prix, due to the recent sequence of races without significant points, with opportunities lost due to details. Despite the challenge, the young racer expressed firmness in his ability and the team’s dedication, highlighting the vital importance of each point for the development of the team and its position in the constructors’ championship, especially for a team on the rise like Audi.
In a pre-event statement for the Red Bull Ring stage, Bortoleto confirmed the perception that the team should have accumulated more points in previous races, something that did not materialize. Although the situation is naturally discouraging, the driver emphasized his full awareness of Audi’s performance potential, demonstrating great expectation to take advantage of a new opportunity to position itself among the top ten.
Additionally, the Brazilian competitor recalled his good performance on the same Austrian circuit during 2025, when he obtained the first points of his career in the category. Gabriel Bortoleto expresses his hope of replicating this positive result in the current season.
“I have very positive memories of the Spielberg race last year,” shared the driver. He reinforced that the race track was the stage for his debut in the Formula 1 scoring zone, highlighting that it was a memorable moment for the entire team, with Nico Hülkenberg also securing points on the same occasion.
Concluding his statements, Bortoleto expressed his desire to revive the previous year’s success, stating: “Naturally, we would very much like to repeat this feat in 2026. I have full confidence in the team’s commitment and am extremely excited for the challenges we will face this weekend.”
The next stage of Formula 1, the Austrian Grand Prix, is scheduled to take place between June 26th and 28th.
