The city of São Paulo was placed on alert for potential flooding on Monday night. The measure, which covers important roads such as the Pinheiros and Tietê marginal roads, was announced in response to the heavy rains hitting the municipality, according to the climate monitoring system. Attention status represents the second highest level of alert, indicating the possibility of problems and the need for continuous monitoring.

Analysis of the meteorological situation and areas affected by precipitation

The rains are a consequence of a cold front that acts in the region, bringing different intensities of precipitation throughout the metropolis. Data from meteorological radars, released by the Emergency Management Center (CGE) of São Paulo City Hall, confirm the predominance of moderate rains in the south and west regions of the city. Meanwhile, sectors of the north and southeast record lighter precipitation.

Experts predict that the system of instability will remain over the capital in the coming hours, keeping the scenario prone to complications. This persistence of rain increases the risk of new flooding and an increase in the level of rivers and streams in several locations. The phenomenon directly impacts urban routine, creating challenges for traffic and public transport during the night and requiring increased attention from residents.
