The Cadillac team has confirmed the implementation of a significant package of improvements to its cars, aimed at the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix. The goal is to boost the team’s performance and competitiveness in the main motorsport category.

As a newcomer to the category, the North American team is committed to getting closer to its competitors in the middle of the grid and, primarily, winning its first points in the 2026 season.

To date, the team’s best performance was a tenth place achieved by Sergio Pérez in Monaco, but the position was invalidated by a later penalty. At the same time, Valtteri Bottas has faced considerable reliability challenges, including brake problems and overheating, which led him to abandon the last race in Barcelona.

According to Graeme Lowdown, team director, the innovations include components such as new sidepods and a redesigned floor for the single-seater. In a sport where aerodynamics dictate a large part of performance, these elements are crucial for generating downforce and stability in high-speed corners, fundamental for a competitive car. The manager emphasized that this set of modifications requires a considerable logistical effort and expressed the expectation that the improvements will push the team to consistently get closer to the intermediate field.

The aerodynamic improvements will be subjected to rigorous testing at the Red Bull Ring circuit, a location known for its variations in altitude and high temperatures, factors that can directly influence the cars’ performance.

The team’s two drivers expressed optimism regarding the team’s continued progress. Pérez highlighted that the speed of development is very promising, believing that the new parts will bring additional advancement. Bottas, with previous victories at the Red Bull Ring in 2017 and 2020, admitted that next weekend will be demanding, but assured that he is focused on identifying and resolving the car’s issues to ensure constant progress each week.
