Sources indicate that the document with the new guidelines is at an advanced stage and its application could take place after the Austrian Grand Prix. However, the Mercedes team seeks to postpone the implementation of the measure until the next stage, at Silverstone, arguing logistical challenges, as its transport vehicles are already on their way to the Austrian race.
The aerodynamic component in question, an essential part at the rear of the cars, was recently implemented by the German team as part of a package of innovations. These improvements aim to strengthen Mercedes’ performance and ensure its competitiveness on the current grid.
