Recent rumors suggest that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) will come with two crucial features available since its launch. These options are awaited by players and represent an evolution in relation to previous titles in the franchise.
The expectation is that Rockstar Games’ next title will introduce features that were never part of the original version of GTA V when it was released. This marks a significant advancement for the series, promising an experience more adapted to current demands.
The main expected innovation consists of the choice between performance and fidelity modes, features that have become a standard in the ninth generation of consoles. This feature offers users the freedom to prioritize greater visual fluidity with high frame rates or opt for a higher graphical resolution, even with slightly lower performance.
In 2013, at the launch of GTA V, these graphical optimization modes were not available, as the consoles at the time, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, did not have the technical capacity to support them. Not even the later versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One had the option to switch between different levels of performance and visual fidelity.
However, performance and fidelity modes were finally introduced in GTA V with the arrival of its most updated version, released in 2022 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It is expected, therefore, that GTA VI will already incorporate these two important options in its debut on new generation consoles.
Confirmation of graphics modes in GTA VI by Media Markt
Polish retailer Media Markt, cited by user Ph0enixes on Reddit, indicated in its FAQ section that Grand Theft Auto VI will feature performance and fidelity modes. This is the first concrete clue about the inclusion of these features in the game.
According to the company, “GTA VI on next generation consoles offers two graphics modes to choose from (Performance and Quality), support for the DualSense controller features on PS5, providing realistic tactile vibrations and extremely fast loading screens thanks to the power of SSD storage.” This excerpt suggests an immersive and optimized experience.
It is essential, however, to treat this information as a rumor until Rockstar Games makes an official statement. Despite the need for caution, the inclusion of these modes in the release of GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is widely expected, given that it has become common practice for large-scale games on these platforms.
Possibility of a third game mode in GTA VI
It is quite likely that the new title will bring more options. In Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, in addition to the performance and fidelity modes, a third mode was included: Performance RT, offering an intermediate alternative.
Fidelity mode aimed for a 4K visual experience at 30 frames per second (fps), with improvements in shadows and the inclusion of ray tracing. On the other hand, Performance mode prioritized a rate of 60 fps, albeit with a slightly lower resolution to ensure greater fluidity.
RT Performance mode aimed to deliver 60 fps with active ray tracing, but with a reduced resolution. This option represented a compromise between the other two. There is hope that this third feature will be offered again in GTA VI, providing more flexibility for players.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2026, with initial availability for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The version for personal computers has not yet been officially released, but is widely expected to arrive at a later date.
