The highly anticipated science fiction production “Project Hail Mary” will make its debut in the Prime Video catalog in the coming days. The launch takes place this week, bringing an engaging plot for the platform’s subscribers.
The feature film, which has already received recognition at the box office, will be available for streaming from Friday. Its arrival on the digital service comes just over three months after its first showing in cinemas, dated March 20th.
The cinematographic work “Project Hail Mary” is an adaptation of the acclaimed novel of the same name by Andy Weir, author also known for the hit “The Martian”, which was also turned into a film. The plot follows Ryland Grace, a science teacher with a background in biology, who finds himself in an extraordinary situation when he awakens as the only survivor aboard a spaceship.
Actor Ryan Gosling takes on the lead role of Ryland in the film version, portraying a character facing memory loss. During his journey of adapting to a completely new reality, he ends up forming an unusual and crucial alliance.

“As his memories return, Ryland begins the difficult task of understanding his main mission: unraveling the mystery of an enigmatic substance that threatens to erase the Sun,” describes the official synopsis. “He is forced to employ his vast scientific experience and creative solutions to prevent the extinction of all life on Earth, but a surprising connection may mean he won’t have to face this journey alone.”
The script was developed by Drew Goddard, and directed by the duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The cast of “Project Hail Mary” also includes names like Sandra Hüller, James Ortiz, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, Milana Vayntrub and Priya Kansara, who complement the story.
After its premiere, the production “Project Hail Mary” reached the top at the box office in North America. Before arriving on Prime Video, the film had already been made available to subscribers of the MGM+ streaming service.
