Diomande, the new striker, arrived in Spain to begin his journey at Real Madrid. The player underwent medical examinations during the afternoon of August 7, 2026, and will now follow the usual procedures for reinforcements before his official presentation for the club.
At just 19 years old and with a remarkable performance for Ivory Coast in the World Cup, Diomande is the most expensive acquisition ever made by Real Madrid. The initial investment of 125 million fixed euros, equivalent to R$736 million, marks a long-term strategic investment by the Spanish club, with a contract established until June 2033.

New names join the Real Madrid squad for the 2026/27 season
The talented athlete is the sixth player to join Real Madrid for the 2026/27 season. He is now part of the group that includes full-backs Cucurella and Dumfries, defender Konaté, midfielder Bernardo Silva and striker Carlos Espí, all available to coach José Mourinho.
The Madrid club had been monitoring Diomande since the period before the World Cup. After showing his talent at Leganés, in Spain, the Ivory Coast striker went to RB Leipzig the previous year, where he shone in his first campaign in German football, scoring 13 goals in 36 games.
During the World Cup, Diomande was on the field as a starter in Côte d’Ivoire’s four matches. In the group stage, the African team achieved victories against Ecuador and Curaçao, advancing in second place in Group E, behind only Germany. The team was eliminated in the next stage after losing 2-1 to Norway.
