Mourinho defines the boat at Real Madrid and 3 stars are close to the exit; see names
José Mourinho intends to reformulate the Real Madrid squad before the start of the 2026/27 season. The Portuguese coach seeks to work with a group of twenty players in his daily life, disregarding the Brazilians Militão and Rodrygo, who are recovering from long-term injuries. This strategic measure aims to optimize the squad, even after a period of large investments in new signings by the club.
To reach the goal set by the coach, three athletes would be needed to leave the group and reach the desired number. According to information published in the Spanish press, Camavinga, Mendy and Raúl Asencio are among the names that could be negotiated in this transfer window. Striker Endrick was considered for a loan, but the possibility was ruled out by decision of Mourinho, who wants to have the Brazilian in the first team.

Camavinga is one of the players that Real Madrid would be willing to release, if they receive a proposal considered interesting for the club. However, the French midfielder has already indicated that his intention is to remain in Madrid, and Mourinho has reportedly expressed satisfaction with his performance during pre-season, as well as his dedication in training.
Mendy lives in a different situation; The left-back is injured and faces strong competition for the position, in addition to having a history of physical problems that raise doubts about his availability throughout the season. Real Madrid would like to find a solution for the player, but, as reported by Spanish media outlets, Mendy has no plans to leave the club.

Raúl Asencio is also on the team’s radar for possible departures. A graduate of Real Madrid’s youth teams, the defender believes he can convince Mourinho that he has space in the team and had been trying to take advantage of the pre-season to gain the coach’s trust. However, a muscle injury will sideline him for around six weeks, which could make it even more difficult for him to receive offers.
The board made a significant effort to assemble the squad desired by Mourinho in the current window. Real Madrid spent approximately 225 million euros (around R$1.33 billion at current prices) on six signings: Diomande, Cucurella, Dumfries, Konaté, Bernardo Silva and Carlos Espí.

Mourinho’s intention is to avoid having a squad with players who would have little prospect of taking the field, seeking a more compact and efficient group. Therefore, if proposals arise for Camavinga, Mendy or Asencio that meet the interests of both the club and the athletes, Real Madrid will be able to evaluate the options to get closer to the group of 20 players idealized by the coach.
