Gemini Spark represents a Google innovation as an artificial intelligence agent designed to perform functions autonomously. Unlike traditional chatbots, which only respond to direct commands, Spark operates in the background, carrying out activities, connecting different applications and automating workflows, even when the user is not actively using their computer or smartphone. This difference allows for more efficient time management, freeing users from repetitive tasks, which adds value by focusing on daily practicality.

The technology is based on the Gemini 3.6 Flash model, running on Google’s cloud infrastructure. This integration allows access to various company services, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Keep and Tasks, to carry out inter-application actions, always with the user’s authorization when necessary.

Spark’s operation is structured into three essential components: Tasks, which define the objective to be achieved; Schedules, which establish when the task will be executed; and Skills, which store instructions and preferences to be reused in various automations. With this, it is possible to configure processes that occur automatically at specific times or under certain conditions.

Available platforms to access Gemini Spark

Gemini Spark is present on multiple platforms within the Google ecosystem. You can access it directly from the Gemini website by selecting the “Switch to Spark” option in the sidebar. For mobile device users, the Gemini app is available for Android and iPhone, also accessed via the sidebar. There is also a dedicated application for the macOS operating system.

Additionally, the feature offers integration with Google Chrome through automatic browsing (Auto Browse). This functionality allows the agent to search for information and perform tasks on different websites, always under the user’s supervision.

Conditions and requirements for using Gemini Spark

Despite already being available in Brazil, Spark requires the user to have a subscription to Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra. It is also essential that the user has a personal Google account, is over 18 years old and has Google Keep activity activated to use the service.

The service does not currently support Google Workspace work or education accounts. There are also geographic restrictions, preventing its availability in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Nigeria.

Practical examples of using Gemini Spark in different situations

Below, see some Gemini Spark applications with suggested commands:

AI agent can help organize travel

Spark is able to automatically collect information from emails, such as flight confirmations and hotel reservations, and record all this data in a Google Sheets spreadsheet. This functionality simplifies tracking dates, accommodation and expenses.

The agent can also search for attractions and events in the chosen destination, adding suggestions to the agenda during free times and sharing the complete itinerary with others via email.

Example prompt:
“Find all flight and hotel confirmation emails for travel to [Destination] in my inbox and organize the dates, times and prices in a new spreadsheet in Google Sheets.”

How Gemini Spark manages your email communications

Users who send a high volume of emails can use Spark to create personalized responses. The agent analyzes previous messages to develop a tailored Skill, called Ghostwriter, which serves as a reference for new drafts.

It also monitors the inbox for important messages, identifies customer questions, and drafts responses for later review and submission.

Example prompt:
“Monitor my inbox for customer questions and write draft responses to each, saving them for my review.”

Integrating and automating tasks in Google Workspace

Spark integrates multiple Google Workspace applications to reduce the burden of repetitive tasks. For example, when you receive a customer contact, you can record the information in a spreadsheet and create a folder in Google Drive for related files.

It is also possible to organize existing documents, catalog important files and create spreadsheets with data extracted from different sources.

Example prompt:
“Whenever I receive a contact email with the keyword [Keyword], extract the sender’s name and email to the [Sheet Name] spreadsheet.”

Tool for controlling and monitoring personal expenses

The agent can review receipts and invoices saved in Gmail on a monthly basis to identify recurring charges, price increases, and subscriptions nearing their trial period expiration.

In addition to alerts, Spark can prepare cancellation messages for user approval and locate invoices or receipts that may be lost in the inbox.

Example prompt:
“Go through the emails in my inbox from the last month and list any subscriptions or services whose free trial periods are about to expire.”

Facilitating the planning of events and appointments

Spark can monitor routines on a weekly basis. Every Friday, it can search for local events of interest to the user, list suggestions for the weekend in a document and schedule the best options in the Google calendar.

For larger events like weddings, he organizes RSVPs, compiles guest information into tables, and prepares summaries for vendors. The agent can also interact with third-party applications to check service availability.

Example prompt:
“Search for cultural or leisure events in the city of [City] for the upcoming weekend and add the options found in the free times on my Google Calendar.”

Strategies for keeping your email inbox organized

The agent can generate a weekly summary of the most important emails, highlight priority tasks and reserve blocks of time in the calendar to execute them.

It also automatically organizes newsletters and promotional messages, archives less relevant content, and unsubscribes from email lists.

Example prompt:
“Analyze the emails received in the last 7 days and generate a succinct summary with the priority messages that require my action.”

Support for daily routine and home maintenance

By analyzing old bills and receipts, Spark identifies maintenance tasks that repeat throughout the year. Based on this information, it creates recurring reminders in Google Calendar.

The agent also updates shopping lists on Google Keep, helping to monitor products that need to be replenished and other household tasks.

Example prompt:
“Review the history of old bills and invoices, identify periodic home maintenance services and create recurring reminders in my Google Calendar.”

Resource for searching and comparing products online

Using Chrome’s automatic browsing, Spark searches information across multiple sites to compare prices, features, and services before making a purchase.

The resource also assists in the reservation process and filling out forms during online purchases, always requesting confirmation before completing important actions.
