In the world of Pokémon games, the Elite Four have always represented a significant challenge for players, marking the culmination of the journey to becoming the best trainer. Defeating these legendary opponents is a fundamental step in each generation of the franchise.
With the expectation of a new chapter in the saga, titled Pokémon Winds and Waves, it is speculated that the Elite Four will bring an innovative twist. Recent information suggests a different approach to these decisive battles in the aquatic universe of the next title.
What news awaits the Elite Four in Pokémon Winds and Waves?
Veteran players remember classic matchups against members like Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, and Lance, each specializing in specific types like Ice, Fighting, Ghost, and Dragon. The strategy for these duels required the formation of a carefully selected team and the clever use of items to ensure victory.
This challenging dynamic remains in Pokémon Winds and Waves, but with a modern touch that promises to change the traditional experience.
Although leaks should be treated with caution, information indicates that the Elite Four will appear at different times in the main story, similar to the freedom to face gyms in any order, present in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This represents a significant change in the game’s progression, offering trainers a less linear experience and more in line with the open world trends of the franchise’s most recent titles, moving away from the more rigid structure of previous generations.
Apparently, the era of traversing regions and challenging gym leaders in a predetermined sequence is coming to an end. A well-known leak tipster, identified as Kurwashibamaste, claims that the Elite Four will feature a new roster of Water, Grass, Fire, and Electric type specialists.
The same leak adds that the enigmatic female character seen in the game’s teraleak reveals will be the head of the Elite Four specializing in the Water type.
For fans’ peace of mind, another informant, known as The_BallGuy, used X to clarify a misconception. There were rumors in Discord communities that the regional champion would be a Normal-type trainer, something The_BallGuy confirmed was not true.
New information about the plot of Winds and Waves appears on the internet
After information about the Elite Four was released by Centro Leaks, a popular leak portal, the same source detailed that Winds and Waves will also feature a structure of three main routes, similar to what was seen in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
The leak group even suggests that the narrative will be superior to that of Scarlet and Violet. One of the routes is called “Legend Tour”, where players must defeat bosses to strengthen Konetsu, a legendary seed-type Pokémon. This journey is comparable to the quest for Legendaries in Scarlet and Violet, with Konetsu playing a similar role to Koraidon and Miraidon.
“Mahou Tour” involves overcoming challenges against bosses, incorporating a new battle mechanic called “netsu”. Considering that “netsu” means “heat” or “temperature” in Japanese, it’s likely that a dynamic weather cycle will be a central element of this part of the game.
Finally, Centro Leaks indicates that Winds and Waves’ post-game content will have a focus on MMO features, inviting players to participate in a cooperative version of the “Mahou Tour” with other trainers.
Given the recent popularity of a fan-made Pokémon Emerald MMO and the belief that a full-fledged massive online game could revitalize the franchise, it remains to be seen whether Winds and Waves will bring these innovations when it launches in 2027.
