Barcelona established a 7-2 lead against Racing Santander at Camp Nou as the match reached the 89th minute. The home side controlled possession while managing the five-goal advantage on the pitch.

The contest proceeded into its closing stages without interruptions to the tactical plan. The hosts maintained their offensive pressure across both flanks as Hansi Flick directed his squad from the technical area. Play resumed immediately.

After receiving an accurate through ball from Karim Adeyemi along the right wing, Lamine Yamal slotted the ball into the open net in the 89th minute to record the seventh goal for the Catalan club. Inigo Vicente nearly responded for the visitors during that same minute with a low effort from inside the box, but goalkeeper Joan Garcia deflected the strike to prevent the goal.

Referee Jose Munuera allowed the game to continue without stopping the tempo of the players.

Yamal converts late cross from Adeyemi

The attacking sequence for the seventh goal originated when Karim Adeyemi accelerated past his marker on the counterattack and found Lamine Yamal unmarked inside the penalty area. The forward tapped the ball past goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala to extend the lead.

Racing Santander made a tactical substitution in the 86th minute when manager Jose Lopez sent Jorge Salinas onto the field to replace defender Facundo Gonzalez. During that same minute of play, Karim Adeyemi broke into space inside the penalty area and unleashed an angled strike that drifted narrowly wide of the right post, while Lamine Yamal had previously tested the defense in the 84th minute by bending a left-footed attempt just inches away from the upper left corner. The continuous pressure from Barcelona pinned the opposing backline deep inside their own defensive third.

Gabriel Jesus found the back of the net in the 79th minute by driving a powerful strike into the bottom right corner of the net. The Brazilian striker capitalized on quick combination play near the edge of the penalty box.

A swift combination of short passes opened space through the Santander defense to create that sixth goal for the hosts. Following the restart, Jose Lopez introduced Giorgi Guliashvili in place of Inigo Sainz-Maza in the 78th minute. Barcelona manager Hansi Flick responded simultaneously by withdrawing Joao Cancelo to deploy Alejandro Balde at left back.
