The GR Corolla Morizo RR concept appeared in the Fuji Motorsports Forest Welcome Center. The Toyota shows a more versatile version of the hot hatch. The model maintains five seats and adopts an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Essa variant differs from GRMN, launched in the same period. The Morizo RR prioritizes daily use without sacrificing performance. The prototype will be on display until June 28th.
GR Corolla Morizo RR maintains five-seat configuration
The Morizo RR retains the full rear seat. GRMN’s Diferente, which sacrifices rear space for extreme lightness, this option delivers practicality. Toyota describes the design as the “ultimate five-seat model.”
Development still continues. Therefore, complete technical details have not been revealed. The expectation is that it will use the 1.6 three-cylinder turbo engine present in the other GR Corolla.
- Cinco full places
- Transmissão eight-speed automatic
- Aerodynamic Kit inspired by GRMN
- Pneus 235/40 ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport 5
External Design follows GRMN’s aggressive line
The concept adopts a carbon fiber hood and rear spoiler similar to the GRMN. Rejillas vents on the front fenders and front spoilers complete the package. The forged BBS wheels appear, but without the Gazoo Racing logo.
The yellow details highlight the Morizo RR identification on the trunk lid. The tinted windows prevent vision of the interior during the public exhibition. The look is close to that of the more extreme model, but with slightly narrower tires.
Automatic Transmissão facilitates everyday use
The choice of an eight-speed automatic transmission aims to broaden the audience. Essa transmission, already used in other GR models, makes everyday life easier. The Morizo RR doesn’t directly compete with the GRMN in track focus, but it offers balance.
The prototype does not have the wider tires of the GRMN. Instead of 245/40 ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, it uses 235/40 ZR18 Pilot Sport 5. Essa choice reinforces the more versatile character.
The Morizo RR appears as an alternative for those who want performance without giving up comfort. The Toyota continues to expand the options of the GR Corolla.
Exposição and next steps of the project
The concept is open to the public at Fuji Motorsports Forest Welcome Center until June 28th. Toyota has not yet defined a launch date or markets where the Morizo RR will be sold. The current focus is on product refinement.
Especialistas follows the development with interest. The five-seater version with automatic transmission may attract buyers who want a hot hatch that is more friendly for urban use. The project reflects Toyota’s ongoing effort to evolve the GR line.
The Morizo RR appears alongside the GRMN, which is more radical. Enquanto the latter focuses on pure performance with manual transmission, the new concept balances emotion and practicality.
Detalhes that attract attention in the prototype
The interior remains hidden due to tinted windows. Espera is expected to bring specific adjustments in relation to the common GR Corolla. Toyota has not disclosed exact mechanical changes beyond the transmission.
The concept represents another stage in the evolution of the GR Corolla, launched more than four years ago. The Japanese brand continues to explore new possibilities for the model.
