These are very difficult times for Miguel Ángel Muñoz, who faces the difficult task of getting used to living without the most important woman in his life: his mother. Cristina Blanco, who was well known on television in the 1990s when she worked as a psychic, but had been away from the media for decades, has died at the age of 61. The cause was a heart attack suffered at the Majadahonda residence, in Madrid, where he had lived for some time after the amputation of a leg. Her most famous son wrote a touching farewell letter, which we reproduce below.

The complete letter from Miguel Ángel Muñoz to his mother: the complete farewell message

Dear Mom: You were a brave, charismatic woman, with a lot of character and tremendously passionate. A woman touched by a magic wand, capable of doing the impossible for most mortals. I never told you this, but I always thought that your amazing intuition was due to the fact that you were gifted. Furthermore, his strength and resilience were absolutely extraordinary.

Your life has been the most dizzying roller coaster imaginable and you have lived it to the fullest, often to the limit and often without a seatbelt. You have lived from a young age with a mental disorder that was diagnosed too late. It was something so complex to understand for you and to appreciate for others for your enormous capabilities and social skills, that even in our closest circle we forgot about the disease every day and it was often difficult for us to see you with enough empathy that one should have with a sick person.

Thank you mom for giving me life, for loving me so much. Although this immense love was your way and I was often unable to express it through our emotional biography, I always felt that both I and my brothers were the most important thing to you.

Thank you also for taking care of me in a professional aspect and for staying away from the media for more than 20 years and never getting involved in talking about you or others, despite all the times they did everything to have a testimony from you, or no matter how attractive the offers they made you to talk about all the people who trusted you with very intimate parts of their lives, you always kept their secrets and continued with admirable discretion.

Thank you for showing me all the sides of life firsthand based on your personal experience. The lights and also all the shadows that you had to go through and thus make me selective in what I want in my life and what I don’t.

In the last 3 years you have fought against death again on several occasions, but it seems that this time, just when you were more emotionally aware, your body did not accompany you. Despite the impact of the suddenness and the pain, I am very happy that you left peacefully and sleeping peacefully last Saturday, June 7th. You leave us with an immense void in the entire family and in your immediate surroundings that will be very difficult to fill.

I will also be eternally grateful to you for wanting to appear in my documentary #LAÚLTIMAVUELTA, and for making you so happy. And it makes me very sad that you won’t be able to watch his debut in the cinema, just as you won’t be able to see me on my birthday at the Teatro Romano de Mérida. But I know you will be seeing all this and much more from some privileged place with one of your superpowers. I love you and I will miss you so much mom. Rest in peace.
