The Canadian representation with the Maple moose
Hailing from the northernmost territory among the hosts, Maple is a brown moose, wearing a red uniform, a shade often associated with the Canadian team. This animal, scientifically known as *Cervus canadensis*, is recognized as one of the country’s most striking symbols.
According to information from FIFA, Maple plays the role of goalkeeper and has a very refined street style. The character, who also shows great appreciation for music, was described by the entity as a creative, resilient being, with a strong spirit and leadership qualities.
The Zayu jaguar symbolizing Mexico
For the only Latin representative in North America, the jaguar Zayu embodies the Mexican spirit. With her beige coat adorned by brown spots and a green uniform, the color traditionally worn by the Mexico national team, this striker is described by FIFA as resourceful and agile, with the purpose of celebrating and uniting the country’s rich culture with her figure.
The international federation also clarifies that the name “Zayu” was designed to evoke unity, strength and joy, and that the character embodies Mexican dance, cuisine and traditions. The choice of the jaguar is justified because it is a native animal and emblematic of the local fauna.
Clutch, the American bald eagle
Displaying white and brown feathers on a blue uniform, Clutch is a bald eagle chosen to represent the United States. This bird is not only the country’s main emblem, but also a native species of its territory.
Characterized as a midfielder, the Clutch animal has been associated with traits of leadership and adventure. Additionally, FIFA states that the character is an ardent sports enthusiast and is always committed to contributing to the growth and success of his team.
