Xiaomi has officially presented its latest equipment for the hot drinks market, introducing the Mijia Portable Coffee Machine. Developed for consumers who enjoy quality espresso on the go, this innovative appliance is ideal for travel, camping, outdoor activities and office environments.

The device condenses the functionality of a conventional benchtop machine into a compact, cylindrical format. Visually, the design resembles a common thermos bottle, which makes it easier to transport and integrate into different contexts.

The expansion of the Chinese giant’s lifestyle portfolio demonstrates an increasing focus on products with high mobility and preparation flexibility. The portable coffee maker differentiates itself by incorporating professional-grade components in a segment often dominated by manual or low-pressure solutions, serving users who seek high-quality coffee even far from a power source.

Designed for daily use, the external construction of the equipment guarantees safety during transport and practical handling. Measuring 24.5 centimeters high and 7.15 centimeters wide, its cylindrical shape fits comfortably in cargo backpacks or vehicle cup holders.

The structure is certified with IP55 protection, which guarantees resistance against dust ingress and offers protection against light jets of water, light rain or splashes that may occur during use in outdoor environments.

At the heart of the extraction system, Xiaomi has equipped the model with an electromagnetic pump capable of reaching a pressure of up to 20 bar. This level of performance is comparable to that of many traditional domestic espresso machines, ensuring the efficient extraction of essential oils from the coffee and the formation of the coveted crema layer.

The device’s infusion chamber was designed with a dual compatibility system, offering the user freedom to choose between using coffee capsules in the market standard format or freshly ground coffee. The entire extraction chamber can be completely removed from the main housing, simplifying washing and removing residue quickly and hygienically under running water.

To ensure the thermal stability of the water, the Mijia portable coffee maker integrates a ceramic heating element, which operates in conjunction with a PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) algorithm.

A dedicated chip continuously monitors heat variations, keeping the water at a precise 92°C throughout the infusion process. This temperature is considered ideal by the industry to avoid burning the powder and maximize flavor extraction. The device supports both hot extraction and cold extraction methods, completing a standard cycle in approximately 45 seconds.

The energy supply is provided by a set of three lithium-ion cells, each with 2,500 mAh, totaling a nominal capacity of 7,500 mAh. Energy management and final autonomy of the product may vary significantly depending on the operating mode selected by the user.

When Pure Extraction Mode is activated, in which the already heated water is inserted directly into the machine’s reservoir, battery energy is consumed exclusively to power the 20 bar electromagnetic pump. In this scenario of maximum efficiency, the portable coffee maker can deliver up to 400 cups of coffee with a single full charge, an important difference for long periods of use without access to a refill.

On the other hand, in Internal Heating Mode, if the operator fills the chamber with cold or room temperature water, the ceramic heater needs to be activated to raise the temperature to 92°C. Due to the high energy consumption of the thermal dissipation process, autonomy is drastically reduced, allowing you to prepare just over 3 cups per load, which requires planning for use in places without power.

Power replenishment is carried out via a USB-C port with 45W fast charging support. This protocol allows the battery charge to be increased from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes, with a full 100% charge reached in 80 minutes. Thanks to the universal connection, the portable coffee maker can also be powered directly by high-power power banks when operating on the go.

The product is sold as a complete kit that eliminates the need to purchase additional items for its basic functionality. The original packaging includes a rigid carrying case for transport and protection against impacts, a positioning support made of aluminum alloy, a textured metal basket specifically for use with ground coffee, a measuring spoon for powder and a stainless steel serving cup with double thermal insulation wall.
