Actor and comedian Faizon Love, 58, was arrested earlier this week in the state of Florida, in the United States. According to public records obtained by People magazine, he is being accused of contempt and was denied bail by the court. The “no bail” condition generally occurs in cases of serious violation of court orders or in situations where there is a risk of flight or threat.
Documents presented to the court indicate that a woman identified as Tiffany Lee reopened, on June 11, a paternity declaration process against Faizon. However, it was not immediately clear whether this legal action is directly linked to the artist’s recent arrest.
In addition to the current circumstances, the actor, who is a Cuban naturalized American and is in custody in Tampa, has already faced other complications with the law on different occasions, as reported by the Daily Star newspaper.
In 2017, Love pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery of a valet at Columbus International Airport in Ohio. More recently, in 2024, he was arrested in California on suspicion of aggravated assault, following an incident in which he allegedly threw a credit card machine at a hotel receptionist who informed him that she could not give him the room he had reserved.
Throughout his professional career, Faizon Love has built a career with notable roles in the film industry, notably in comedy productions. One of his most recognized works is the film “Elf in New York”, released in 2003, where he acted alongside Will Ferrell.
His filmography includes appearances in several other hits, such as “Sexta-Feira em Apuros” (1995), “Vizinhança do Barulho” (1996), “Virando o Jogo” (2000), “Sorte no Amor” (2006) and “Encontro de Casais” (2009).
In more recent years, the actor continued to be active, joining the cast of productions such as “De Volta à Ativa” (2023) and “A Última Parada do Arizona” (2023), consolidating his presence on the big screen.
