Hamster confirmed this Monday (June 24, 2026) that the version of “Arcade Archives 2 Tekken” will be available for the Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles from June 25. The re-release of the iconic fighting title has a set price of 1800 yen, including all taxes.
“Tekken”, originally released in 1994 by Namco, which is now Bandai Namco Entertainment, established itself as a landmark in three-dimensional fighting games. The game’s plot unfolds around the “King of the Iron Fist Tournament”, a global competition that brings together fighters with different goals, all seeking the title of most powerful martial artist.
One of the distinctive features of the combat system is its control method, which dedicates a specific button to each of the character’s four limbs. This approach provided players with an intuitive and straightforward way to execute moves and combos during battles.
The “Arcade Archives” initiative’s main purpose is to faithfully reintroduce the great arcade classics to modern audiences, ensuring the preservation of their original essence. The collection offers additional conveniences such as difficulty adjustments, varied display settings, and practical features such as the ability to rewind playthroughs, rapid fire, and multiple save points for progress, making the experience more accessible.
Additionally, the platform allows players from all over the world to measure their skills in online rankings, adding a competitive element to the nostalgia.
Among the new features implemented, “Arcade Archives 2” introduces a “Time Trial Mode”, adding to the already known options such as “Original Mode”, “Maximum Score Mode” and “Caravan Mode”. This new format challenges competitors to finish the game in the shortest time possible. Additionally, support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) was added, ensuring visual fluidity that brings the experience of current consoles closer to that of the original game in arcades. A special episode dedicated to “Tekken” will be shown on the official “Arcade Archives” YouTube channel, starting at 7pm on June 25th.
