A recent document points out that the highly anticipated game Grand Theft Auto 6 should receive a physical media version in December 2026, just a few weeks after its digital debut. The details were published by the Polish website PPE.pl, which cited a source in the retail sector. The portal is known for its history of correct predictions about the release of other titles in physical format.
According to the same publication, developer Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive possibly chose not to offer the disc edition on the initial release date, in order to prevent possible leaks before the game’s arrival. This speculation gains strength after previous rumors indicated that physical copies could, initially, only contain a download code, generating discontent in the community of players who defend the preservation of physical media. This scenario reflects a trend observed in the industry, where digital distribution has prevailed, despite the appeal of part of the public for physical collectibles. Rockstar has not issued any official statement on the topic so far.
Known details about the setting of GTA 6
The narrative of Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in a vast open world, inspired by the state of Florida, in the United States. The main city is Vice City, a fictional representation of Miami, which made its first appearance in the original GTA and was later the setting for its own title, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, released in 2002. The plot focuses on two main characters, Lucia and Jason, who were featured in the game’s launch video, and the gameplay will allow you to switch between their stories at different times.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026. However, to date, there is no official information about an edition for personal computers.
