Five months after the death of his wife, influencer Isabel Veloso, Lucas Borbas made his engagement official with speech therapist Diulia Loregian, a relationship he had recently entered into. Isabel, who was 19 years old, passed away due to complications from Hodgkin’s lymphoma, leaving her one-year-old son Arthur, the result of her union with Lucas. In his engagement post, Lucas expressed, “Perhaps this new chapter represents yet another reason for my gratitude to God. I have always chosen to see life from a different perspective. ‘Love is the only way’ has never been merely a phrase for me, but a life principle. It is through Him that I move forward, keeping faith and seeking joy.”

Diulia, the future wife, also celebrated the news. She published: “By your side, I realized that true happiness lies in small gestures, in the hugs that last, in the laughter we share and in the conviction of having found the right person to accompany me on this journey of life!”

In an exclusive statement made this Monday (29), Joelson Veloso, Isabel’s father, addressed the topic for the first time. He highlighted that he does not intend to pass judgment on the particular way in which Lucas deals with his grieving process. “Lucas is my grandson’s father, and my constant wish is that he has the discernment to guide his path and to exercise exemplary fatherhood. The way each individual experiences grief is unique, and it is not my place to criticize other people’s decisions,” said Joelson.

Joelson reiterated that, for him, the fundamental thing is to always honor his daughter’s memory. “As Isabel’s father, my main concern remains preserving her memory and caring for the legacy of affection she left in our lives. I do not wish to encourage criticism, disagreements or controversies. The anguish of losing a daughter is something that will accompany me forever, however, I decide to proceed with consideration for all parties involved. My only request is that people also respect Isabel’s memory, my own grief and, crucially, the well-being of my grandson Arthur, who must grow up in an environment of affection, away from any conflicts”, he requested.

Regarding Lucas’ engagement, Isabel’s widower had revealed last Thursday (25) his commitment to speech therapist Diulia Loregian. At the time, he declared: “It may be that this new stage of life is yet another reason to express my gratitude to God. I have always chosen to observe existence through a different perspective. ‘Love is the only way’ has never been just an expression for me, but a philosophy of life. It is driven by it that I move forward, with faith and in search of plenitude.”

Anticipating possible criticism, Lucas also published an outburst. “Before you evaluate me, remember: I didn’t choose melancholy or depression. I chose to live. I chose to progress. I chose to be happy,” he declared. “I made this decision not just for myself, but for all of us. For the family that I continue to build and for the model that I wish to transmit to my son. Always seeking to be in harmony with divinity and with my own conscience. Therefore, I prioritize my happiness. Always. Seeking to live correctly, with a serene heart and seeking an ever deeper connection with the Creator.”

The relationship between Lucas and Diulia began in a period before Isabel’s death.
