The Bayern Munich and England striker collected 1,055 points in the official Ballon d’Or 2026 vote, the highest total in the men’s ranking. Kylian Mbappé finished second with 1,027 points, a gap of 28 points. France Football and L’Équipe released the count on Friday, 30 October, after the ceremony held on 26 October 2026 at the London Palladium.
France Football, which organises the award together with UEFA, relies on a panel of 100 journalists from the top 100 nations in the FIFA men’s ranking. Each juror picks ten players from a list of 30 nominees and gives 15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points, from first to tenth place.
Full points table for the top ten players
- Harry Kane: 1,055 points
- Kylian Mbappé: 1,027 points
- Lamine Yamal: 881 points
- Rodri: 726 points
- Lionel Messi: 612 points
- Khvicha Kvaratskhelia: 541 points
- Ousmane Dembélé: 418 points
- Erling Haaland: 378 points
- Michael Olise: 296 points
- Fabián Ruiz: 201 points
Kane’s season was marked by goals and consistency with Bayern Munich in elite competitions. He scored 73 goals for club and country in 2025–26, helped the club win the Bundesliga and reach the Champions League semi-finals, and captained England to third place at the 2026 World Cup. He is the first Englishman to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001, and the narrow gap reflects how the jurors split their choices between the two strikers.
Lamine Yamal went past 800 points and finished third with 881, ahead of Rodri on 726. Lionel Messi was fifth with 612 points, a placing built on his performances in Major League Soccer and for Argentina.
