Google Pixel smartphone owners often value the agility of incoming software updates. It is widely recognized that not all enhancement packages are equally relevant, ranging from major new features to simple bug fixes.
Google has started rolling out the latest update for Pixel devices for June 2026, marking it out as a robust release. This package, considered the largest released by the company this year, promises significant transformations.

This release represents an improvement over the previous month’s security update, which unusually did not cover the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro models. Fortunately, all of these devices were included in the current June “Pixel Drop”.
While the inclusion of all of these models is not a surprise, given that they were already eligible for the Android 17 Beta and June’s “Pixel Drop” serves as the public release of Android 17, the move is welcome to the community.

As highlighted, June’s “Pixel Drop” is full of new features, such as application bubbles to improve multitasking, on-screen reactions, a revamped game interface for foldable smartphones and greater support for Quick Share, among other new features. Without a doubt, it is an update that users should not miss.
To ensure you don’t miss any of this news, checking the availability of the June 2026 “Pixel Drop” or the Android 17 update is as simple as any other software update. More experienced Pixel users should already be familiar, but for those who need a reminder, the steps are as follows:
1. Open the “Settings” app on your smartphone.
2. Scroll down and tap “System”.
3. Select “Software Updates”.
4. Tap “System Update”.
5. Choose “Check for update”.
It’s important to note that this is a considerably large update, measuring around 1.5GB in size. Therefore, it is advisable to ensure that your Pixel is connected to a Wi-Fi network before starting the download or, at the very least, that it has a stable 5G connection with your cellular operator.
