Electrical discharge knocks man off roof in Jaguaruana after contact with power lines
A resident of Jaguaruana, in the interior of Ceará, suffered a strong electric shock and fell from a roof, on August 10, 2026. The accident occurred in Curralinho dos Patos, a rural area of the city, and was captured by security cameras at a commercial establishment.
The person affected, whose identity was not disclosed, was carrying out work on top of the property. He used a long stick that, at one point, touched the power grid of a pole, causing a high voltage shock.

Ceará’s Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) provided first aid to the victim of the incident. He was initially taken to the Jaguaruana Municipal Hospital.

After the first assistance, the man was transferred, still conscious, by the Samu team to the Vale do Jaguaribe Regional Hospital, located in Limoeiro do Norte. The agility in providing assistance was essential for stabilizing his health condition.
A second man, who was with the victim on the roof, witnessed what happened. He jumped to help his friend, but ended up suffering injuries to his legs due to the fall. His current health status has not been reported by authorities.
