Sales of Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and 2 for PlayStation 4 and 5 exceed 11 million
The versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 stood out as some of the most sold games in 2026. The information was released by analyst Rhys Elliott, from the company Alinea Analytics, which monitors the performance of the games market.
According to data presented by Elliott, sales of Black Ops 2 on PS4 and PS5 reached the mark of 8.2 million units in July 2026. Black Ops 1 sold 3 million copies. Combined, the two titles generated revenue of 435 million dollars for the PlayStation platform.

It is also estimated that these two games led sales on PlayStation during the month of July, surpassing other major titles. In third place was Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, with approximately 1.6 million copies sold in the period.
The scenario places both Black Ops games among the biggest sellers of the year. Black Ops 2, in particular, appears in the global top 5, alongside Mecha Chamelon, which sold 12.6 million, EA Sports FC 26, with 9.1 million, and Resident Evil Requiem, with 8 million units sold.
This performance is remarkable, especially because they are ports that did not bring significant changes in relation to their original versions for PlayStation 3. Maintaining the essence of the games, even without major innovations, demonstrates the strength and longevity of the franchise.
The success of Activision, developer of the titles, is expected to continue in October. On that date, the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will take place on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, Switch 2 and Xbox Series.
