Power Rangers presents new redesigned look for the Green Ranger in comics
The sixth member of the Power Rangers team, Tommy Oliver, known as the Green Ranger, received a completely redesigned costume in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic series. The transformation is the most impactful ever seen on the character’s iconic uniform.
Details of the modernization of the Green Ranger’s costume
The conceptual art that revealed the changes, signed by artist Phillip Sevy, began circulating on social media even before the official publication. The new look maintains the traditional combination of green and white, in addition to the golden details characteristic of the Dragon Shield.
The main innovation in the uniform is the introduction of the color black. It now appears on the arms, shoulders and legs, even outlining the white diamond that is under the hero’s shield. Additionally, refined touches round out the update, such as a uniquely designed white belt that connects to a black sheath for the Dragon Dagger, and the gloves have been enhanced with a gold outline and green diamonds on the cuffs.

The current plot of the comic books deepens in the character’s absence. In the early issues, when Billy tries to activate the Green Ranger during an attack, he simply can’t get through the portal. The reason for this impediment remained a mystery to readers.
The second edition of the series shows Tommy arriving at an enigmatic location, involved in a personal mission, without being transformed or using his powers.
His return occurs in the fifth edition, where the character appears on several covers, finally ending the mystery about his whereabouts and the reason for his absence in the first battles.
