Helldivers 2 Phenomenon arrives in the PS Plus catalog with ‘Deprived of Freedom’ content update
The game Helldivers 2, a massive success in the PlayStation multiplayer universe, was added to the PS Plus catalog on August 12, 2026. Subscribers to the Deluxe and Extra plans will be able to play at no additional cost, while a new content package, called “Deprived of Freedom”, is also available on all platforms.
Activation of Helldivers 2 via PS Plus was not yet available in the morning, with the expectation that the title would be available between 12pm and 2pm, following the time pattern for new monthly additions or the service catalogue.
It is important to note that there is a distinction between catalog games and monthly PS Plus games. Essential plan members already have access to monthly games, which can be redeemed during the month and remain in the user’s library indefinitely, requiring only an active subscription of any level.

On the other hand, the games in the catalog are exclusive to subscribers of the Deluxe and Extra levels, which have a higher cost. Although it is not necessary to activate them to play without additional fees, these titles are subject to being removed from the library in future service updates.
To mark the inclusion of Helldivers 2 on PS Plus, PlayStation organized a special event. If players collectively eliminate 500 million enemies by August 18, 2026, four exclusive avatars will be unlocked for use on PSN.

The game’s inclusion in PS Plus also serves to boost the release of the latest update for Helldivers 2. The “Deprived of Freedom” package introduces new missions and secondary objectives, in addition to introducing new enemies, such as Biltre and Crusher.

Players will also have the chance to reach up to 300 new levels of access and security privileges, in addition to achieving new titles and ranks, following the pattern of previous updates to the game.
