Chelsea sets deadline and price of R$839 million for Enzo Fernández to Manchester City
Chelsea has set a deadline for Manchester City to make an offer for midfielder Enzo Fernández. The London club demands a proposal of at least 120 million pounds, the equivalent of R$839 million, by 5pm (1pm Brasília time) on August 14th for the Argentine player.
The “Blues” maintain an inflexible stance, stating that they will not accept any proposal after the established deadline. The intention is to end all speculation surrounding the Argentine athlete’s future before the start of the sports season.
Manchester City is closely monitoring Fernández’s situation and appears, theoretically, as one of the most likely destinations. The Manchester team would be prepared to proceed with the signing, as long as Barcelona agrees to pay 68 million pounds (R$475 million) for midfielder Rodri. Talks between the clubs for Rodri have not yet reached a consensus, with the Spanish having two offers rejected by the English.

On July 2, Real Madrid had publicly expressed itself, distancing itself from a possible negotiation for Fernández. However, the 25-year-old player himself had already expressed in an interview his appreciation for the Spanish capital, an attitude that resulted in a fine and a two-match suspension for Chelsea.
With the arrival of José Mourinho as the new coach of the Merengue team, who is a declared admirer of the Argentine’s style of play, it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will change its position in light of the condition imposed by Chelsea.
Enzo Fernández’s agent, Javier Pastore, confirmed on July 2 that the athlete is “evaluating possibilities to leave Chelsea”. Despite this, to date, no other club has formalized an official proposal or been willing to match the amount demanded by the “Blues”.
In 2023, Chelsea invested 120 million euros, approximately R$661.29 million at the price at the time, to sign Enzo Fernández from Benfica. Since arriving in London, the midfielder, whose contract runs until 2032, has accumulated 19 goals and 17 assists in 117 games in the Premier League.
