PS5 will have special edition of ‘Marvel’s Wolverine’ and exclusive accessories in September 2026
Sony Interactive Entertainment, in collaboration with Insomniac Games and Marvel Games, has revealed a preview of the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 Limited Edition Marvel’s Wolverine Pack. This launch, which will take place from September 15, 2026, includes a PS5 Digital Edition console that reflects the character’s intensity, along with a DualSense wireless controller and a code for the game Marvel’s Wolverine.
With a striking yellow finish, the set pays homage to Insomniac’s “Battle Reborn” costume and claws. The console’s innovative design displays Wolverine’s claw marks and even allows you to glimpse the interior of the PS5 Digital Edition, offering a different aesthetic. The corresponding DualSense controller also features cuts inspired by the hero’s claws, promising greater immersion for players.

For those who wish to purchase just the controller, the Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition DualSense will be available for individual purchase worldwide.
Capturing Wolverine’s “primitive energy” was a crucial point in developing the PS5 console’s new look. The team highlighted the fruitful partnership with Insomniac Games and Marvel Games in the design process, which featured input from Jock, a Scottish graphic artist renowned for his work on the Wolverine comics.

“My intention was to portray Wolverine in his most ferocious form for the PlayStation 5 Limited Edition Pack and its accessories,” explained Jock, the graphic artist. He further added that the opportunity to combine cutting-edge technology with the fluidity of hand-drawing and paint is incredibly exciting, and that he was impressed with how the console and accessories translated the raw energy of his design in a unique way.

Marcus Smith, from Insomniac Games, praised Jock’s work, stating that his illustrations have the dynamism necessary to capture the violent nature of the hero, whose main interaction with the world happens through his Adamantium claws. For Smith, Jock’s drawings are realistic and raw, perfectly embodying the essence of Wolverine.

For owners of a PS5 (Slim Model) or PS5 Pro console, it will be possible to purchase exclusive Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition covers at select retailers.
Additionally, a second special lid design will be released for the PS5 Pro console. This version, inspired by the adamantium that makes up Logan’s skeleton and claws, features a premium metallic finish with the same claw cut details, allowing you to visualize the interior of the PS5 Pro console and evoke the character’s power.
A DualSense controller with the same metallic finish, the Limited Edition Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium, will also be sold separately. Both the covers and this control will be available from authorized dealers.
Insomniac Games promises an original action experience with Marvel’s Wolverine. The expectation is that fans will enjoy the new console designs and accessories inspired by the character and the game, which will be released on PS5 from September 15, 2026.
