Toyota has issued a recall covering approximately 655,000 Camry vehicles in various regions of the world. The measure, announced by Toyota Motor North America, comes after the discovery of a fault in the instrument panel of cars manufactured in the 2025 and 2026 lines. The date of the incident is August 12, 2026.
The identified fault may result in the display screen completely turning off when the vehicle is started. According to the company, the defect lies in the software that manages the operation of the instrument cluster, which may prevent the screen from initializing correctly on certain occasions when starting the car.

Although it may seem like a minor issue, the breakdown compromises the display of crucial safety indicators, such as directional arrows, emergency lights and warnings about seat belt use. Due to these direct implications, the incident was classified as a safety risk, leading to the immediate launch of the recall campaign.
Toyota vehicles affected by the recall campaign
The repair campaign has a worldwide reach, covering around 655,000 Camry units. The largest concentration of affected cars is in the United States, where 508,354 units of the 2025 and 2026 models, all with a hybrid system, are included in the call.
The cars that are part of this action were manufactured in different plants around the world, specifically in the United States, Japan and Thailand.

Although the recall announced by Toyota is international in nature, it is important to clarify that not all Camry vehicles sold in the Brazilian market are necessarily included in this recall.
Considering that the Camry model distributed in Brazil is imported from Japan, there is a chance that some units sold in the country are part of the global production batch affected by the failure.
However, Toyota’s Brazilian subsidiary has not yet published a list of chassis or officially confirmed whether the national market will be included in the campaign. So far, the manufacturer has not commented on the specific issue in Brazil.
The solution proposed by Toyota involves a software update, which will be carried out at no cost to owners at authorized dealerships. The automaker recommends that owners of eligible vehicles follow official communications to verify the inclusion of their cars in the campaign.
