Luna V arrives with new character, Varka, and expands game modes for Travelers
A major content update arrived in the Travelers universe on February 25, 2026, with the release of Luna Version V, titled “Song of the New Moon — The Traveler Who Chases the Wind.” The new feature promises a series of significant additions, from a new playable character to extensive system improvements and bug fixes, aimed at improving the exploration and combat experience.
Tradeoffs and Requirements for Access
Players who reached Adventure Rank Level 5 or higher before 06:00 (UTC+8) on February 25, 2026 received compensation. Server disruption will result in 300 Essential Gems, while bug fixes will award an additional 300 Essential Gems. Server suspension compensation redemption will be available until the end of Luna V, and bug fix items will need to be accessed in-game before 06:00 (UTC+8) on February 28, 2026. Rewards will be sent via internal in-game email within five hours of maintenance completion, valid for 30 days.
How to update the game
- PRAÇA:Restart HoYoPlay and click “Update”.
- iOS:Go to the App Store and tap “Update.”
- Android:Follow the instructions in the pop-up window when entering the game.
- PlayStation®:In the system menu, select “Genshin Impact”, press OPTIONS and choose “Confirm update”.
- Xbox Series X|S:Go to “My Games and Apps”, select “Manage”, find Genshin Impact under “Updates” and confirm.
It is important to note that the PlayStation®4 version will stop receiving updates after the end of the Luna V Version, on April 8, 2026 at 06:00 (UTC+8). PS4 players are encouraged to continue the experience on PlayStation®5 or other devices without losing progress.

Meet Varka, the new playable character in the update
A new five-star character, Varka (Anemo), the Knight of Boreas and Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, will be introduced. He wields a sword and is an Anemo Damage dealer, capable of inflicting two types of elemental damage simultaneously. His Elemental Skill allows him to enter Hurricane Charge mode, enchanting his weapons and increasing attack damage. Varka’s Ultimate Ability generates elemental and Anemo damage, and its cooldown can be reduced by the presence of Mondstadt characters on the team. When activating the “Magic: Secret Ritual” effect, your Elemental Skill is strengthened. After completing specific missions, Travelers can obtain Varka’s exclusive weapon, “Indestructible: Durandarte”.
New equipment to strengthen fighters
A new five-star sword, “Ballad of the Mighty Wolf”, will be available. This weapon increases attack speed and grants stacks of “Poem of the Four Winds” when hitting enemies, increasing damage. With the “Magic: Secret Ritual” effect active, each stack also amplifies the wielder’s CRIT Damage. The “Ballad of the Mighty Wolf” can be obtained through Prayer, with details to be disclosed in official announcements.
Beginning of a new journey in history
The update brings a Legendary Quest from Varka: Lupus Majoris Chapter: Act I “For Those Who Embark on the Expedition”, which will be permanent after the release of the Luna V Version. To unlock the quest, you must have Adventure Rank Level 40 or higher and have completed the Song of the New Moon – Act VIII “True Moon”. Travelers with an Adventure Rank of Level 28 or higher who have already completed the Archon Quest: Chapter I – Act III “A New Rising Star” will be able to unlock this quest faster until March 17, 2026.
New enemies and challenges await
An ancient creature, the “Radiant Gecko”, will be introduced. This monster, guardian of an underground palace, can trap Travelers in Shiny Cocoons. Healing yourself completely allows you to escape, lowering the creature’s Geo RES. During the “Void Reverberation” attack, destroying his Moonstone Anchor interrupts the ability and deals heavy damage. The Radiant Gecko can be found in the Wavechaser Plain.

Updates to Miliastra Arcanum and Sacred Call of the Seven game modes
The Miliastra Arcanum mode receives new features such as four sets of clothing in the Ode event “The Brightness of the Cloud Among the Mist”, three new sets in the Chronicles of the Kingdoms/Epic of the Kingdoms and two available for a limited time in the Miliastra Store. A new Hall theme, “Cloud Citadel: Solemn Admonition,” will also be implemented, with the option to purchase “Cloud Citadel: Magnificent Pillars” via Miliastra Pass. A new Voice Chat system with Lounge and Team chat options, as well as new clothing and expression components, enrich the experience.
In Sacred Call of the Seven, new Character Cards such as Ineffa and Mika and corresponding Talent Cards are added, expanding the card game’s strategic options. The “Temperature of the Kingdom Forge” mode returns with the “Ceaseless Swarm” theme, challenging players to defeat enemies to accumulate points and redeem rewards.
News for the Theater of Imaginary Realities
The Theater of Imaginary Realities will have its first season on March 1, 2026, with Radiant Blessings strengthened for Electro, Cryo and Anemo elements. Characters like Varesa (Electro) and Eula (Cryo) will be the highlights. On April 1, 2026, Season 2 will bring strengthened Radiant Blessings for Hydro, Cryo, and Geo, with Mona (Hydro) and Navia (Geo) among the opening characters. New “Dramatic Tricks” and “Imaginary Journey” challenge stages will also be included.

Spiral Abyss Modifications
The Spiral Abyss was updated on March 16, 2026. The 11th Floor will have 60% Anemo and Cryo Damage Bonuses for the entire team. On the 12th Floor, the first half will have a 75% increase in Anemo Damage, and the second half will have a 75% increase in Cryo Damage from Normal Attacks. The formation of enemies on the 11th to 12th floors will also be renewed, and the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon, “Roaring Wind Moon”, will apply Wind Cuts which, upon reaching four stacks, trigger a Shockwave.
Other content additions
The Luna V Version introduces a new recipe, “Golden Brew Jade”, and a Varka specialty, “Heart’s Desire”. Paimon 47’s “Wonder of the World” achievements and emoji packs have been updated. New Calling Cards, such as “Varka: Wolf Leader” and “Battle Pass: North Wind”, will be made available. The Relachá Teapot gains a new layout, “Passing Shadow”, and Gift Sets featuring Nod-Krai characters. The “Repertory of a Thousand Melodies” is also expanded with new albums, instruments and score themes.
General tweaks and optimizations
Several enemies have received adjustments to their combat logic, such as the Hexadecagonal Mandrake and the Pale-furred Wolf. Optimized respawning of bosses after defeat in Multiplayer. The Training Guide has been enhanced with a revamped interface, allowing Travelers to target up to four characters for improvement and view relevant domains. Miliastra Arcanum now allows you to invite Travelers who are “Travelling in Teyvat” and offers an interface preview function. The Audio system underwent optimizations, including soundtracks and dubbing.
Fixed several issues
- Missions:Solutions to issues that prevented progress in Archon Quests and World Quests, such as floating objects, inability to teleport, and dialogue anomalies.
- Exploration:Fixes related to unlocking chests, locking enemies in specific locations and working items such as the Lunar Treasure Compass.
- Enemies:Anomalies in boss abilities such as Lupus Boreas and Dottore, as well as Coating Value display issues in Multiplayer.
- Characters:Fixes for weapon displays, special effects, expressions and character models such as Traveler, Neuvillette and Wriothesley.
- Equipment:Solutions for glitches in weapon effects and incorrectly displaying elements.
- Miliastra Arcanum and Sacred Call of the Seven:Description, card functionality, and interface issues have been resolved.
- Audio and System:Fixes to voice acting, music, sound effects, and user interface issues, including mission tracking and avatar display.
Balance of cards in the Sacred Call of the Seven
Adjustments have been made to the balance of the Sacred Call of the Seven. The effects of several Character Cards and Action Cards that were dependent on the “Original Elemental Dice Cost” will now be activated based on the “Current Elemental Dice Cost”, which directly impacts duel strategy. Some cards also received descriptions or judgments related to the Lunar Charge. The starting maximum health of several Character Cards has been adjusted, with increases for Fatui – Pyro Agent, Hiddenstone Lawachurl, Feathered Terror, Devouring Whale, and Yelan, and reductions for Tulpa Hydro and Escoffier. Event and Support Cards, such as “Hot Spring” and “Meropide Fortress”, have had their effects and Elemental Data costs modified, aiming for a more balanced and strategic gaming experience.
