New four-cylinder engine promises high performance

The two configurations of the 2027 CB1000 Hornet are equipped with a 1,000 cubic cylinder four-cylinder engine. This engine has double valve control, electronic gasoline injection and liquid cooling, delivering a power of 147 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and a torque of 10.3 kgfm at 9,000 rpm. The transmission is six-speed.

Interestingly, the same engine delivers slightly higher power figures in the European market, reaching 152 hp in the ABS version and 157 hp in the SP. This difference can be attributed to specific adjustments to meet different emission standards and local fuel characteristics, optimizing performance for each region.

ABS and SP versions offer advanced technologies

Both versions of the new Honda CB1000 Hornet incorporate modern technologies to optimize the riding experience. The Throttle By Wire electronic throttle, for example, provides a more precise and smooth response. Riding modes are configurable, allowing the rider to adapt the motorcycle’s behavior to different road conditions or personal preferences.

The motorcycle also comes equipped with traction control, an essential feature for safety on high-performance motorcycles, preventing skidding during more vigorous acceleration or on low-grip surfaces.

Suspension and brake differences between models

The 2027 Honda CB1000 Hornet features an inverted front suspension supplied by Showa on both versions. However, the Pro-Link rear suspension setup changes significantly between ABS and SP.

In the entry-level version, the rear suspension is also Showa, offering a balance between comfort and performance. The SP version stands out with an Öhlins TTX36 shock absorber, known for its adjustability and superior performance, ideal for riders looking for even more refined and aggressive control.

Brake systems also have variations:

  • ABS version:It uses Nissin brand components, ensuring effective and safe braking.
  • SP version:It features parts from the renowned Brembo, which offer even more powerful braking performance and a more direct response, often preferred in sports riding environments.

Digital features and rider convenience

To improve the rider’s interaction with the motorcycle, the 2027 Honda CB1000 Hornet incorporates a five-inch TFT digital panel, which displays clear and essential information. Furthermore, the motorcycle offers connectivity with smartphones, allowing the driver to manage calls, music and navigation directly from the dashboard.

One of the highlights of the SP version is the quickshifter system. This feature allows for quick and smooth gear changes, without the need to activate the clutch, optimizing response time and contributing to a more dynamic riding experience, especially on roads and tracks.

Design details, dimensions and warranty

The structure of the CB1000 Hornet 2027 is built on a Diamond-type chassis, which offers a balance between lightness and rigidity. The 17-inch wheels are shod with tires measuring 120/70ZR17 at the front and 180/55ZR17 at the rear, providing grip and stability.

The overall dimensions of the motorcycle are:

  • Length: 2.14 meters
  • Width: 79 centimeters
  • Height: 1.08 meters
  • Wheelbase: 1.45 meters
  • Minimum height from the ground: 13.4 centimeters
  • Seat height: 81 centimeters

Honda reports that the 2027 CB1000 Hornet weighs 197 kg without fluids and with an empty 17-liter tank. As for colors, the ABS version is available in pearl white or red, while the SP offers the option of matte black. The motorcycle comes with a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty and assistance from Honda throughout the entire coverage period, reinforcing the brand’s confidence in the new model.
