Chinese automaker Xpeng Inc. recorded 42,013 electric vehicle deliveries in October 2025, the second consecutive month above 40,000 units. The result represents an increase of 76% compared to October of the previous year and consolidates the company’s uninterrupted growth in the competitive EV sector in China. The strategy of focusing on mass models, such as the Mona line, boosts sales amid a price war in the market.
The performance comes as rivals such as BYD and Tesla face fluctuations, with Xpeng expanding into seven new international markets in the period.
- Main highlights of the month:
- Total deliveries for the year reach 355,209 units, an increase of 190% compared to 2024.
- Penetration of the XNGP driver assistance system reaches 86% in urban use.
- Expansion to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Cambodia, Morocco, Tunisia and Qatar.
Mona Line Accelerates Affordable Sales
The Mona series, launched in August 2025, accounts for much of Xpeng’s success. The M03 sedan, with a starting price of 119,800 yuan (around R$95,000), attracts entry-level consumers and has already produced 200,000 units in 14 months.
Since September, deliveries of the Mona line have contributed directly to the monthly total, with no distinction between the Xpeng and Mona brands in the reports.
Still pending October data highlights vulnerabilities to local competition.
Pressure from Chinese startups like Xpeng and Nio intensifies the scenario, with a focus on prices and advanced technologies.
Xpeng Mass Strategy
Xpeng takes a high-volume approach with affordable vehicles to gain market share. The Mona line, including the M03 with a range of up to 515 km (CLTC), represents 42% of total deliveries from January to September 2025. The basic model costs 119,800 yuan, while versions with advanced assistants cost 155,800 yuan, democratizing access to smart EVs. This tactic contrasts with premium rivals and sustains the 12-month streak without drops, rare in the sector. The company plans XPENG AI Day on November 5 to reveal advances in physical AI and robotaxis, bolstering innovation.
Global expansion and innovation
Xpeng enters new territories to diversify risks from the saturated Chinese market.
Chinese competition on the rise
The EV sector in China sees all major players with increases in October, except for one-off drops. Nio delivered 40,397 units, up 92.6%, with the flagship brand rising from 13,728 to 17,143. Xiaomi maintained above 40 thousand, without exact details, while Li Auto fell 6.4% to 31,767 after a marketing error. These numbers illustrate the intense dynamics, where record volumes coexist with pressured margins.
