Rayo Vallecano showed interest in signing French striker Alan Virgínius, who plays for Young Boys, in Switzerland. The information was released by journalist Matteo Moretto, contributor to Marca.

Virgínius, 23 years old, is experiencing a positive moment in his career. In the 2025/2026 season, he registered six goals and nine assists in 42 games for the Swiss club, contributing in both the Super League and European competitions. The player, who arrived at Young Boys permanently after loan, established himself as a creative option in attack.

Trained at Lille, the Frenchman had loan spells at Clermont and Young Boys before being bought permanently for around 2.5 million euros. His versatility as a left winger and ability to create plays place him as a profile that can adapt to Spanish football.

Rayo Vallecano ended the 2025/2026 season in eighth place in La Liga, with 50 points, and reached the final of the Conference League, where they finished runner-up. The Madrid team is looking for reinforcements for the offensive sector with a view to greater consistency in the next campaign, especially after a year of solid campaign, but without directly fighting for the top of the table.

What changes in practice

The possible arrival of Virgínius would represent a bet on a young and rising talent. Unlike more expensive signings, the Frenchman still has an affordable market value, around 2 million euros, which fits into Rayo’s economic model, a club known for identifying opportunities on the international market.

About the player

Born on January 3, 2003, Virgínius has experience in different leagues. After starting at Lille, he needed to adapt on loans before exploding in Switzerland. His current performance surpasses the previous season’s numbers at the same club, showing consistent evolution.

Rayo, who tends to mix experienced players with promising youngsters, could find him an option to add depth to the attack, especially in a calendar that mixes La Liga and possible European commitments.
