Crysencio Summerville, winger of the Dutch team, left his mark in the 2-2 scoreline against Japan last Sunday (14), during the opening round of the group stage of the World Cup. After the match, he expressed his deep desire for a confrontation with the Brazilian team and for the opportunity to meet Neymar, his great idol since childhood.
In an exclusive interview with ESPN Netherlands, Summerville stated that his admiration for Neymar has been going on for a long time. “Since my childhood, Neymar has always fascinated me. He has not yet taken to the field in this World Cup, but he remains my reference”, declared the athlete.
Facing Brazil and being in front of Neymar would represent the fulfillment of a youthful desire, according to the player. “I spent hours watching videos of him on YouTube. In my neighborhood, everyone dreamed of being a star, and I, in particular, aspired to be Neymar”, added the talented striker from the Netherlands.
A possible meeting between the teams of Brazil and the Netherlands is planned for the round of 16 of the World Cup, if one of the teams advances as leader of its group and the other in second place.
